Ellis Mee has been named in the Welsh 23 for their Guinness Six Nations match against Ireland and is set to become the 1,211th men’s international to represent Wales!
Mee, who scored 7 tries (22 appearances) in his breakthrough Nottingham Rugby season, has continued to impress since his move to Scarlets in the summer.
Dave Ross, Nottingham’s backs coach and NTU head coach, quoted “Everyone at NTU and Nottingham Rugby is absolutely over the moon on hearing the news of Ellis’ selection for his international debut. What a huge occasion so early in his meteoric career where only two seasons ago he was playing BUCS rugby for Nottingham Trent University. Last season he was the the rising star of The Championship for Nottingham and after doing so well in his first few months at Scarlets in the URC and Europe, he now gets to test himself against the very best teams in the world in the Six Nations.”
“We wish him the very best and we will all be watching supporting him on Saturday vs Ireland”
“The pathway that we have built here over the years producing over 150 Championship and Premiership players now has it’s most recent success story at international level and we would encourage those students not selected for a premiership or professional contract who still have ambitions to become an professional player to join us at NTU.”
Wales face Ireland at the Principality Stadium on Saturday 22nd February (2.15 KO)
