Nottingham Rugby are delighted to announce the signing of Matthew Arden from Northampton Saints ahead of the 24/25 season!

The fly-half has come through the ranks at Oundle RFC and Stamford School before joining the Saints Academy at the age of 14. Arden gained international experience after being named in the England Under-17 training squad in 2020 before making his England debut at Under-18 level.

Arden made his debut for Northampton Saints’ 1st XV away at Ealing Trailfinders in the first round of the 2023/24 Premiership Cup campaign, and has made 8 Nottingham appearances on loan this season, scoring 44 points.

Matthew said “I’ve felt comfortable since the minute I walked through the door here at Nottingham. The players, the coaches and the staff have all made me feel so welcome and I can’t wait to be here on a regular basis.”

Head Coach, Craig Hammond, added “Matty has really impressed having been with us a few times this season and I know he will be a great addition to our side on a permanent basis.”
