Nottingham Rugby is pleased to announce that Roadgas Ltd have agreed to renew their sponsorship of the Women and Girls Community Programme for a sixth year. In a further sponsorship progression Roadgas has also agreed to be the first co-sponsor of the Academy.
Roadgas is the UK’s leading supplier of LNG, CNG and biomethane refuelling station infrastructure. The Colwick-based firm work with both the public and private sectors to provide a complete supply solution that meets the bespoke needs of small, medium and large transport operators throughout the country looking to decarbonise their fleets. Roadgas is working with the club to continue their development of grass roots female rugby in the community.
As part of this partnership, Roadgas continue their role as official sponsor of the community programme. This will include hosting their annual women and girls’ match day in April and providing rugby coaching to local schools and clubs in the Rushcliffe area throughout the season.
The Academy aims to provide support to players at club level for those clubs that are not able to offer this level of coaching. The objective is to help individual players reach their full potential as well as supporting the RFU in the wider Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire area with their ambitions to develop structured player pathways from grass roots level. The Academy will create a stepping stone for those players who are aspiring to play at the highest level they can. As we look forward to the Women’s Rugby World Cup in 2025, we hope to inspire a legacy for girls in rugby.
Nottingham Rugby Chairman, Alistair Bow said: “Nottingham Rugby is delighted to continue the partnership with Roadgas Ltd – an organisation that shares our passion for both rugby and the local community. We are proud to be partnering with them on both the community programme and academy to support the continued growth of opportunities for women and girls to play rugby.”
Roadgas Marketing Director, Becky Rix said: “Roadgas are thrilled to support Nottingham Rugby as we continue to build on our success of the grass roots women and girls’ community programme. As we go into our sixth year, we remain passionate about widening the women’s rugby game across the region even further.”
