DEPARTMENT: Nottingham Rugby First Team
REPORTING TO: Head Coach
HOURS OF WORK: Full time (This will involve regular evening and weekend work) BASED: On-Site at Nottingham Rugby with national travel for games
SALARY: £30-35k dependant on experience.

Nottingham Rugby was founded in 1877 and we are fiercely proud of our Nottingham roots. We have previously played at Ireland Avenue in Beeston and at Meadow Lane Stadium are now based at Nottinghamshire Sports Club on Holme Road in Lady Bay where we train and play our home games.
Nottingham Rugby currently play in the Championship, the 2nd tier of English Rugby. We have strong links with both Universities based in the City and have an emphasis on developing young talent. Our link with Leicester Tigers, has seen a number of players progress through our pathway to play international rugby.

ABOUT THE JOB:
Nottingham Rugby are recruiting an experienced and enthusiastic Head Physiotherapist to lead the provision of therapy services to the Nottingham Rugby first team. Working closely with the Head Coach, Lead Doctor and Head of S&C, the purpose of this role will be to provide high class care to all players in the first team squad at Nottingham Rugby
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To offer timely assessment of acute injuries and ensure appropriate follow up care is arranged (in keeping with the agreed Nottingham Rugby medical pathway).
- To work with and communicate effectively with the coaching team, including Head Coach and Head of S&C, on player availability both in the short and longer term, including planning modified training programmes.
- Provide comprehensive rehab programmes for all injured players
- In co-ordination with the Lead Doctor, put in place all necessary protocols and policies for compliance with the RFU/Championship minimum standards criteria and to ensure best practice principles are followed in all areas of sports medicine at Nottingham Rugby.
- Arrange appropriate cover with the team doctor cover for all matches (in line with RFU/Championship protocol) and liaise with opposition team medics where appropriate to facilitate this.
- Provide pre-match support and first aid and immediate care during the all Nottingham Rugby fixtures.
- Maintain contemporaneous medical notes via Intelligence Platform in keeping with the CSP professional standards.
- Remain a member of the Health and Care Professions Council and the CSP at all times.
- Support the professional development of other therapy staff and students including interns, undergraduate and post-graduate students.
- Ensure that there is suitably qualified physiotherapy cover at all training sessions and on match days
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS & EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience of working in a high-performance environment.
- Confident, resilient, and self-motivated.
- Ability to drive a positive, enthusiastic, and dynamic culture.
- Flexibility to work unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Work using initiative and have great communication skills, both written and verbal.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Qualification in Physiotherapy (BSc or Pre-Reg MSc.)
- HCPC Registration.
- Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
- PHICIS Level 3 or equivalent Immediate Care in Sport qualification.
- Previous experience working in high performance sporting environments.
- Full Driver’s License.
DESIREABLE
- MSc or PgDip in Sports Medicine or Physiotherapy or related area (or working towards same).
- Previous experience in rugby.
