The New Zealand-born, Japan international is in his third season
with Nottingham.
Arlidge enjoyed a globetrotting career before donning the Green
and Whites, having first featured Super Rugby side the Auckland
Blues in 2001/02. Unusually he made his Super Rugby debut before
featuring for Auckland in New Zealand's National Provincial
Cup.
By 2004 the fly-half had relocated his career to Japan where he
would eventually qualify to play for the Cherry Blossoms on
residency grounds. His test debut came in an emphatic 82-0 win over
South Korea in 2007 and looked a certainty to play at the World Cup
in the same year before he broke his leg.
He moved on to play in Wales for a season in 2008 before moving
to Nottingham.
Arlidge realised his life-long ambition to play at the World
Cup, starring in three of Japan's four matches in the tournament
played in New Zealand. He scored 34 points, coming from two tries,
three conversions and six penalties.
