Munro Excited by Strengthened Squad

Munro Resized

Nottingham Rugby will start the 2013/14 Green King IPA Championship season with a "strengthened" squad, says centre, Joe Munro.

The Green & Whites have brought in four new faces over the summer and Munroe believes Nottingham's squad has been improved because of it.

The new additions - Matthew Jarvis, Neilus Keogh, Campese Ma'afu and Jon Vickers, will be part of the squad for Saturday's trip to Doncaster's Castle Park.

Munro said: "The new guys are settling in really well, it's been an easy transition for all of them because they all fit into our system really well.

"We all live by values here and they've accepted them and have shown their quality throughout pre-season.

"They've definitely strengthened us and added something different.

"We've brought in some experience with Matthew Jarvis, who's a quality player with a good background. There is also some depth in the pack now with Campese Ma'afu and Neilus Keogh coming in.

"We just want to get on the pitch and put it all together now."

Munro also has ambitions to push for promotion, as he eyes another top four finish this season.

"We've got to aim for the top four, that's always our goal. We want to be competitive and don't want to be one of those teams that are sitting around in the middle of the pack.

"By the end of the season we want to be in those play-offs and aim for that top spot."
