Montagu joins Andrew Savage and David Jackson, out of the current
playing squad, to have made 100 league appearances for
The big Australian second row is currently in his second spell
with the Green and Whites. During his first stint at the club,
Montagu played the majority of his games at Number 8.
After returning from his three year spell with Championship
rivals Bristol, Montagu has moved into the engine room and is in
the best shape of his career and is playing some of his best rugby
He said, "I had a good preseason with Jo Brun, I had no injuries
and the hard work is now paying off. With an increased level of
fitness it's allowing me to be more mobile around the field."
Speaking about notching up 100 league appearances as a
Nottingham player, Montagu said, "It's great to achieve the
milestone, especially with it being in front of the home crowd, and
combined with the lads getting a much needed win. It was a tough
game like always against Bedford as they're a good team. We played
for the full 80 minutes, which we knew it would take and snuck the
win in the end."
