The big Australian second row is currently in his second spell with the Green and Whites. During his first stint at the club, Montagu played the majority of his games at Number 8.

After returning from his three year spell with Championship rivals Bristol, Montagu has moved into the engine room and is in the best shape of his career and is playing some of his best rugby too.

He said, "I had a good preseason with Jo Brun, I had no injuries and the hard work is now paying off. With an increased level of fitness it's allowing me to be more mobile around the field."

Speaking about notching up 100 league appearances as a Nottingham player, Montagu said, "It's great to achieve the milestone, especially with it being in front of the home crowd, and combined with the lads getting a much needed win. It was a tough game like always against Bedford as they're a good team. We played for the full 80 minutes, which we knew it would take and snuck the win in the end."
