Explosive Action at the Lane

Nottingham Rugby take on Bedford in the Greene King IPA Championship on Sunday (3rd November) and the match will be followed by a fantastic fireworks display at the ground.

The Green and Whites go into the match looking to claim victory against a side that got the better of them when they clashed in the play-off semi finals last season.

Both sides are looking to get back to the form that saw them at the top end of the league last term, with each claiming only one victory apiece going into this match.

Despite Nottingham losing 33-18 at Bristol last time out the team took a lot of positives from their second half performance.

Nottingham Head Coach, Martin Haag said, "Bristol were very good in the first half last week.  They played at a good tempo, kept hold of the ball and took their chances well.  A couple of their tries came from lapses on our part, but they were firmly in control.

"As a team though, we responded very well after half time.  We took the game to Bristol and caused them a lot of problems.  If we'd got the final pass away on a couple of occasions then Bristol would have had a lot to think about towards the end of the match.

"We also take the positives from how well we performed in defence.  There was a great intensity in the efforts which bodes well for this weekend.  Overall, we can see it coming together and we just need to secure a win to continue the development."

Nottingham Rugby's second annual fireworks display follows the match after rave reviews last season.  Entrance is free with a match ticket or people can choose to come in just for the fireworks.  Fireworks only tickets are available for £5 per adult and £1 per child with entrance to ground after half time.

On the field, Nottingham welcome back George Catchpole in the centre, which sees Ed Styles move back to the wing and Andrew Savage return to full back.  Otherwise, the side is unchanged.
