Defence Stands Firm in the Rain

Friday night saw a heroic Nottingham defensive performance provide a win against high flying London Scottish. Before the game, London Scottish were joint third in the Greene King IPA Championship and they proved to be a tough test for the Green and Whites.

The Nottingham players were up to the challenge though and came out on top
15-3 in wet conditions at Meadow Lane. The roar from the crowd at the full time whistle signified the importance of the win and appreciation of the huge effort the Nottingham players put in for the entire 80 minutes.

At the heart of all the hard work was big second row forward Dan Montagu. Montagu and his forward pack laid the foundations for a strong Nottingham performance.

Montagu said, "It was a tough game; London Scottish are a quality side. We had to be on top of our game to be up there at the end. Fair play to the boys, Scottish threw a lot at us and our defence stood firm.

"It's a great boost for our confidence, we've been working extremely hard every week and sometimes we haven't got the result, but this week it was a great effort from the boys and we got that important win.  It will give us confidence going into another tough game this week, away at Jersey."

Next up for the Green and Whites is an away trip to Jersey before entertaining Bristol at Meadow Lane on Sunday 16th February. (KO 3pm)
