Moseley 29 vs Nottingham 15 - Match Preview

Nottingham Rugby heads to Billesley Common on Saturday (9th November) to take on Moseley in the Greene King IPA Championship, buoyed by their last gasp victory over Bedford in their last outing.

Walker Against Bedford

The Green and Whites secured a 26-24 victory with a late Matthew Jarvis penalty in stoppage time after having to come from behind twice in the match.  In what was only their second win of the season, Nottingham displayed a great deal of character to grind out a much needed result.

Head Coach Martin Haag said, "The result against Bedford was a reward for the tremendous amount of hard work that the lads have put in these last few weeks.  Our performances have been getting better all the time and we were pleased to get the win against what is still a very good Bedford side.

"We showed a lot of character to come from behind twice in the match and keep our composure to take the chance that came our way right at the death.  When you are on a losing run, sometimes it can be hard to recover when you go behind.  The lads here have shown that they never believe they're beaten and that was fully in evidence against Bedford.

"Now we have that win on the board, we need to build on that this weekend against Moseley.  We know that they're a good side; they're very physical and they like to move the ball around, so we'll have to be at our best to keep the momentum going."

Campese Ma'afu is away on international duty with Fiji, so Ryan Bower comes into the front row while an injury to Jon Vickers sees Alun Walker get his first league start for the club at hooker.  Behind the scrum, Ed Styles replaces George Catchpole in the centre, while Tom Chapman and Sean Morris come in on the wings.  Rory Lynn comes in at full back in place of Andrew Savage.
