Nottingham 27 vs Cornish Pirates 27 - Match Preview

Nottingham Rugby welcome the Cornish Pirates to Meadow Lane on Sunday (1st December) in the Greene King IPA Championship and will be looking to build on the last two wins at home and bounce back from the narrow defeat at Rotherham.

Nottingham Head, Coach Martin Haag said,

"There was a lot of endeavour, commitment and effort showed against Rotherham last weekend, but unfortunately we weren't clinical enough and didn't take the opportunities we created. The game was always going to be a real challenge and an opportunity to see how far we've come in recent weeks. To be honest it could have gone either way.

"We're not a million miles away from where we want to be. We're getting a few guys back from injury which is helping us to continue to improve week on week. We've gone really well defensively recently and in the last few games we haven't given that much away and are stopping teams scoring tries. We need to work on scoring a few more points and being a little bit more precise in our finishing."

Nottingham line up with the same pack that travelled to Clifton Lane last weekend, with the forwards looking for another strong showing. The backline sees Savage return to full back after a brief spell on the sidelines. Styles moves back to centre alongside Joe Munro and Morris comes back on the wing for Purdy.
